“Hurts So Good”
Welcome to my blog! Mine! No one elses. This is a place, allowing me to share my thoughts, ideas or anything else I so choose to say and connect with you on a more personal level, aside from Facebook and Twitter. I’ve been saying for a few weeks now, “I really need something that I can channel thoughts and ideas in to aside from song writing and shows.” Welp, here it is. I’ll be sure to do my best at posting frequently, things in which you’ll only find on the Nathan Morris Official Blog.
Last night, after my meeting in Nashville, my manager and I painted the town red. He took me out to listen in on some live music. Our goal was to go in each bar, have one drink and head to the next. The first three bars we walked in to, “Hurts So Good” by the one and only John Mellencamp was playing. It became the theme song for my evening. The fourth place we went to, the song didn’t play, but I was followed around by two girls, saying I looked like Edward, which you’ve heard me say people have done before. I felt the need to just respond over the Britney Spears pounding in the background in a British accent. They complimented the fake accent and asked for my number, I said I didn’t know it and that Jody had it in his email. When they turned to him, he smiled and acted like he couldn’t understand them.
We left our shadows and walked down the street, while I continued my British accent and had a few street performers rap about London and Big Ben for 3 bucks. $3 well spent if you ask me. Dropped the accent after running in to a supporter of the music who recognized me. Hopped in a car that picked us up, hopped back out of the car to direct taxi traffic, hopped back in, they almost hit a few taxis as we left and headed to play guitars, eat Skittles and inprov on some lovely songs. Left at 5:45 am, driver pulled up, screamed “Cash Money” and took Jody and I through Jack In The Box drive-thru for some biscuits! Shut my eyes at 6:15 am.
Thanks Nashville!
